About Me

I'm Ryan, a freelance journalist on track for a Gold Standard NCTJ diploma from the country's top journalism school: News Associates.

I write for a variety of publications on subjects ranging from economics, politics and finance to sport, general interest and local news.

I have covered the political economy extensively for Northern Slant, while cultivating the sport and business outputs of Top Sponsor, a start-up quarterly magazine.

I currently write on a freelance basis for capital.com, where my articles have included analysis of the EUR/CAD exchange rate pair and an outlook for a potential PureGym IPO.

When I'm not covering international finance, I'm reporting locally for London-based papers including South West Londoner and South London Press.

Prior to a career in journalism, I worked as a policy economist, advising departments in the Northern Ireland Executive on labour market strategies, as well as leading and presenting a forecast model for the Northern Ireland and UK regional economies.

I'm open to commissions and collaborations, so please get in touch.
